120th Bocholt Jazz Evening: Alex Gelhausen Quartet
Alex Gelhausen (vocals), Benedikt Göb (piano), Henning Gailing (bass), Hans Dekker (drums)
As always in December, singing takes centre stage at the Bocholt Jazz Evening. We have been following this tradition for 24 years now. This year, Henning Gailing has invited the singer Alex Gelhausen.
Alexander Gelhausen studied jazz singing at the Cologne University of Music. As head of the vocal department of the Jazz and Popular Music Department at the Mainz University of Music, he has been teaching there as an artistic major since 2001. His singing style is strongly reminiscent of Frank Sinatra or Lou Rawls!
Benedikt Göb is a very talented young pianist (born in 2002) who grew up in Borken and has been an integral part of the Cologne scene since his studies in Cologne. Through his collaboration with Tom Gäbel, among others, he is well trained to accompany vocals.
Henning Gailing on double bass and, as is usually the case in December, Dutchman Hans Dekker from the WDR BigBand complete the rhythm section. You can look forward to a swinging jazz evening with a high-calibre line-up!
