Subsequent certificate issue

You need a new certificate to be issued (e.g. to present to the authorities, to register your child at school or at a sports club).

The following documents can be applied for retrospectively within a statutory period:

• Application for civil status certificates from the birth register (110 years)

• Application for civil status certificates from the marriage register (80 years)

• Application for civil status certificates from the civil partnership register (80 years)

• Application for civil status certificates from the register of deaths (30 years)

Please remember that we need proof of identity from you in the form of an identity card, passport or other identity document. Further documents may be required in individual cases. Please enquire by telephone or e-mail in good time before your appointment as to whether further documents are required.
