This is how the training works

Training is possible at the Bocholt municipal administration in two main areas:

  • Architecture
  • Civil engineering and road construction

Vocational school instruction takes place at the Berufskolleg Borken.

The 1st year of training includes

  • Basics of technical drawing
  • Basics of construction skills, especially setting up and operating construction sites, securing construction sites in building construction, civil engineering and road construction
  • Overview of different building materials

The 2nd year of training includes

  • Recording and measuring terrain and building components
  • Determining quantities, masses and dead loads of building materials and components
  • Various possibilities of information and electronic data processing

The 3rd year of training includes

  • Drawing ground plans, sections and elevations in various scales
  • Drawing site plans for subsoil investigations, prefabricated building elements and laying plans
  • Drawing site and elevation plans and structures in civil engineering and road construction

Possible areas of employment after the training

Once you have completed your training, there are a wide range of employment opportunities, e.g:

  • in the construction industry,
  • in architectural and engineering offices and construction planning offices,
  • in housing associations,
  • in industrial and commercial companies with their own construction departments or
  • building authorities in the public sector.
