In the first two years of study, practical training takes place three days a week in the Digital & IT Department of the City of Bocholt. At the same time, two days a week are spent studying "Computer Science.Software Systems" at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences, Bocholt Campus. After two years of study, the final examination to become an IT specialist can be taken before the North Westphalia Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

From the third year onwards, the young professionals are employed at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences during the lecture periods and at the City of Bocholt during the non-lecture periods. A three-month practical phase and the bachelor's thesis are also completed within the degree programme.
