Bocholt is located in western Germany, more precisely in Münsterland, between the regional centres of Münster and the Rhine-Ruhr conurbation on the one hand and the Dutch centres of Arnhem, Nijmwegen and Enschede on the other.
With around 71,000 inhabitants, Bocholt is the largest city in western Münsterland and the Lower Rhine region. Bocholt is the third largest city in Münsterland.
Bocholt is a cycling city with over 200 kilometres of cycle paths and is a popular stop for cycle tourists.
