Own Stuff

Acoustic original compositions with cross-genre elements of funk, pop, Latin, soul and folk

Three of the band members came together 25 years ago, initially to interpret cover songs acoustically. Over time, more and more of their own songs were composed. The band Own Stuff now consists of six musicians who have come together from different backgrounds, with Christian Tepasse and Moritz Lörcks on drums and percussion to create rhythms that get into your blood. Together with Markus Salomo (bass, vocals), Norbert Lörcks (guitar, piano, vocals), Michael Schlottbohm (trombone), Karin Lörcks (vocals) and Guido Hoppmann (trumpet, flugelhorn), they create a versatile repertoire with polyphonic vocals and soulful-jazzy accents. The music is noticeably characterised by passion. "It's always something special to present your own pieces and you hope that the feeling comes across to the audience", explains Markus Salomo. Own Stuff can be seen and heard on Wednesday, 22 November at 8 pm at the Alte Molkerei cultural venue.
