Greening work in the Käthe Kollwitz estate
This week, greenery work is taking place around the Käthe Kollwitz estate. Overgrown hedges and bushes are being removed to make room for an attractive and ecologically valuable green belt with benches, flower beds, trees and rainwater troughs along a footpath.
The city of Bocholt emphasises that the old trees will be preserved and integrated into the future green space. In addition to shrubbery, however, some out-of-place young trees will have to be removed. Additional trees, such as ornamental apple or wild cherry, will be added later when the new green belt is created.
The green belt is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025 and the tendering process is currently underway.
