"Jugend musiziert": Young musicians delight the audience

Prizewinners' concert at Bocholter Lernwerk

At the "Jugend musiziert" concert on 9 March 2025 at the Bocholter Lernwerk, the prizewinners wowed the audience with their musical performances.

Together with the regional committee "Jugend musiziert", the Bocholt-Isselburg music school organised the prizewinners' concert of the Westmünsterland regional competition for the districts of Borken and Wesel.

In the modern ambience of the Lernwerk, the deputy mayor of Bocholt, Elisabeth Kroesen, and the director of the Bocholt-Isselburg music school, Claudia Borgers, welcomed the prizewinners of the regional competition "Jugend musiziert" and the audience as deputy chairwoman of the Westmünsterland regional committee.

Scarlet Marleen Martin-Andrade opened the prizewinners' concert with a lively performance on the violin. Sophie Marie Jendrysik on the cello delighted the audience with cheerful and festive sounds. The siblings Charlotte and Louisa Kasprowiak, violin and piano, presented a "Tarantella" full of joy. Erik Sonström and Greta Leygraf interpreted a "Spanish Impression" on their guitars and Maximilian Karstedt brought the soprano saxophone to full sound in the "Solo de Concert".

After the presentation of the certificates of participation, Matilda Varone opened the second half of the concert with her violin with a "Tango Russo".

Luisa Rahn presented a "Georgian Dance" on the viola with confident intonation and a warm sound before Greta Rickert impressed the audience with her virtuoso performance of "Danse espagnole". Carlos Min Kim Andrade brought his viola to life with jazzy sounds in "Blues for Benny".

At the end of the concert, Jakob Sträßner impressed the audience with a perfectly played andante from Rachmaninov's cello sonata.

Many of the musicians will now move on to the state competition "Jugend musiziert" in Essen from 21 to 25 March.
