Please bring your polling card and photo ID with you.

The electoral office is located at Schleusenwall 1, in the inner courtyard of the Mariengymnasium. Access is possible via the schoolyard.

The electoral office is open daily from 6 to 21 February 2025 inclusive. The opening hours are as follows

The electoral office is available until 3 p.m. on Saturday morning and also on election Sunday (23 February) for eligible voters who can prove that they have suddenly fallen ill.

Collecting postal voting documents for others

It is also possible to collect postal voting documents on behalf of another person. In this case, proof of authorisation must be provided in writing. The polling card or identity card of the person to be represented is not sufficient. A corresponding authorisation is printed on the back of the polling card and must be signed by the applicant. Authorised persons may not represent more than four eligible voters.

Applying for a postal vote - 4 options

In addition to applying in person at the postal voting office, there are also other ways to apply for postal voting documents:

  • Online: on the website of the city of Bocholt bocholt.de/bundestagswahl. The online application for polling cards ends on Tuesday, 18 February, at 6 am.
  • Online: Scan the personalised QR code on the election notification
  • By post: Filling out the application for a polling card on the back of the election notification and sending the application to the city of Bocholt at short notice
  • By e-mail: Send an email to wahlamt(at)bocholt(dot)de stating your first name, surname, date of birth and address

It is generally not possible to apply by telephone.

With the above options, the postal voting documents will be sent to the specified home address. This allows you to vote in the 2025 Bundestag election at home. The documents must then be handed in by post or in person to the city of Bocholt as soon as possible in the light red ballot envelope.

The city of Bocholt asks that the postal voting documents are best handed in personally, as the period for voting is only just under two weeks due to the early Bundestag election. The postal voting documents must be received by the city of Bocholt by 6 pm on Sunday, 23 February 2025 at the latest.
