The special film: "Infinite Space"

German documentary film with atmospheric images on Tuesday, 25 February, at the Kinodrom // Admission 7 euros

On Tuesday, 25 February, the city of Bocholt will present the documentary "Infinite Space" as part of the series "The Special Film". It is about the small town of Loitz in the east of Germany. Can artists and others save a dying small town?

Today, Loitz is one of the hardest hit small towns in the former GDR. By 2030, the population will probably have halved to 3,000. As part of a cultural project, the mayor is bringing two foreign artists to Loitz to create a space for encounters.

The documentary "Infinite Space" takes a look behind the grey facades of Loitz for a year from the perspective of long-established and newly arrived residents. What still gives the dying town meaning and appeal? The director scrutinises the concept of home and identity, showing despair, hope and conflict. The documentary gives space to the desire for new beginnings and human cohesion.

The film lasts 94 minutes. The film was directed by Paul Raatz.

Trailers and tickets are available at www.kinodrom.de.
