Alfred Gierkink has been with the city of Bocholt for 40 years

Alfred Gierkink celebrates his 40th anniversary with the city of Bocholt on 1 March. He works at the Bocholt waste disposal and service company (ESB) in the area of urban green maintenance.

After an apprenticeship as a gardener in ornamental plant cultivation and training as a forester, Gierkink has been employed by the city of Bocholt since 1985. He is a recognised tree expert and experienced tree inspector. Gierkink literally knows "every tree in Bocholt". In addition, the jubilarian is held in high esteem by all employees.
