City cycling 2024
SUPPLEMENTARY DEADLINE 28.05.!!!
Attention all Bocholt cyclists who took part in this year's "STADTRADELN 2024" campaign: The kilometres cycled during the campaign period (01 to 21 May 2024) can still be entered in the personal online calendar until Tuesday, 28 May 2024, at www.stadtradeln.de or in the CITY CYCLING app. After that, the deadline has expired and the kilometres collected can no longer be included in the overall result.
If anyone has problems with this amendment, they can still send an email with their kilometre details to klimaschutz(at)bocholt(dot)de today.
The draw for the prizes will take place after the deadline!
Register, take part and win
Cycling is in the blood of the people of Bocholt and it is worthwhile for many reasons. Most of them are well-known: being mobile and flexible; more fitness, health and joie de vivre; doing something for the environment and the climate.
Anyone can win!
Regular cycling is particularly worthwhile again in May! This year, the CITY CYCLING competition is once again offering prizes. ALL CITY CYCLISTS, regardless of the number of kilometres they have cycled, will be entered into a prize draw to win prizes (such as pannier bags).
However, anyone who cycles more than 150 kilometres in total during the three campaign weeks from 1 to 21 May will be entered into a special prize draw .
The prizes are
- an urban bike from ROSE BIKES, a SNEAK 2 EQ
- a westmünsterland Solar - Balcony Power Plant "Premium" including installation kit (balcony, saddle or flat roof)
- a travel voucher from FIRST Reisebüro Drachter, worth 250 euros
Current mileage for Bocholt
How many kilometres have the people of Bocholt already cycled?
Achieving 150 kilometres by bike in three weeks is not particularly difficult for typical Bocholt cyclists. "It's the regularity that counts and not necessarily individual long tours", confirms city councillor Daniel Zöhler. In principle, however, all participants have something to gain!
"In terms of transport policy, daily journeys by bike instead of by car harbour enormous potential", says Zöhler. "Less cars mean fewer parking spaces and therefore more room for green spaces and quality of life in the city. Every movement also means health promotion".
Additional profits for schools
The competition within the competition! This is the name of the NRW school cycling competition. Pupils, together with their parents and teachers, can collect kilometres for the city of Bocholt, but also for their own school or class/year group. Further information is available at School Cycling NRW.
The city of Bocholt is offering prizes for the class, year group or "Abi" fund. Which class or year group will cycle the most kilometres in total and in relation to the number of participants?
Exciting cycle tours
Leisure tours bring additional benefits in the form of variety and fun, as well as socialising with like-minded people. Guided, themed cycle tours for approx. 20 people are offered free of charge on 5 May and 20 May. Due to the limited number of participants, please register in writing at klimaschutz(at)bocholt(dot)de.
