A card for volunteers: Award ceremony at the volunteer agency

As part of a small ceremony in the premises of the volunteer agency on Langenbergstraße, 22 volunteers were honoured for their commitment with the volunteer card. The cards were presented by Bocholt's mayor Thomas Kerkhoff.

"It is just a small acknowledgement of your great commitment to Bocholt's urban society", said Mayor Kerkhoff in his short welcoming speech. More than 20 volunteers from 12 different clubs and organisations have now been awarded the card.

The volunteer card is not just a symbol - it also offers its holders various benefits, including reduced admission to cultural institutions such as museums and theatres, discounts on sports and leisure activities and discounts in numerous shops and restaurants.

In order to receive the volunteer card, certain requirements must be met. Applicants must volunteer at least five hours per week or 250 hours per year and have done so for at least one year. The card is valid for three years and can then be reapplied for.

In addition to the regular volunteer cards, five anniversary cards were also issued to volunteers who have been volunteering for more than 25 years.
