Pupils of the comprehensive school have built boxes // Joint project with NABU
Since this week, new nesting boxes have been hanging in various places in the Fildeken-Rosenberg district. These were built by students of the municipal comprehensive school in Bocholt in cooperation with the NABU district association in Borken.
On Thursday, a district walk to the locations of the nesting boxes took place. During the walk, Rudolf Souilljee from NABU explained what to look for when building and installing nest boxes and why it is so important to help birds nest.
"It is always nice to see how the younger generation also participates with their diverse questions and thus shows their interest in nature," says Rudolf Souilljee about the successful excursion. The 25 or so participants marveled at the colorfully designed nesting boxes.
