Storm warning: strong winds may continue on Friday
Bocholt has got off lightly so far // Fire brigade and ESB clear up storm damage
The storm over Germany has so far been mild from Bocholt's point of view: yesterday, the Bocholt fire brigade was called out to a total of 15 incidents. They were actively supported by employees of Entsorgungs- und Servicebetrieb Bocholt (ESB), who were on duty from 3 a.m. to clear up storm damage.
On Dinxperloer Straße, for example, a lime tree crashed into a car and a maple tree fell over on Barloer Weg. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
From 4 pm today, Friday 18 February, until well into the night, the German Weather Service reports that it may blow hard again:
"Hurricane-like gusts with speeds between 90 km/h and 115 km/h from a westerly direction will occur. Gale-force gusts of up to 120 km/h must be expected near showers and in exposed locations."
