City forest: felling of eight poplars necessary
Trees no longer vital // Rule out danger
Eight poplars will be felled tomorrow in the Bocholt city forest near the game reserve.
In the course of an inspection of the poplars in the municipal forest, tree experts have determined that eight poplars in the area of the game reserve need to be felled. This measure is necessary as these trees pose a risk, particularly in the event of storms with strong gusts of wind. The poplars in question are no longer vital and are considered to be in decline.
A specialised company will carry out the challenging felling of the trees.
The background to this measure is an incident from April. On that day, a poplar tree fell during a rain event with strong gusts of wind. Nobody was injured.
The felling of the eight trees is therefore a necessary precautionary measure.
