Bocholt neighbourhoods wanted for e-car sharing experiment

Apply now until 30 October

Electric cars are on the rise: Bocholt neighbourhoods can now try out this trend and share a car over a test period. The prerequisite is participation in the project "Neighbourhood car sharing in residential areas". We are looking for neighbourhoods from the outskirts of Bocholt (!) that are interested in becoming part of an innovative mobility project.

The city of Bocholt, which supports the project of the LEADER initiative - a regional management for projects that promote rural areas - is calling for participation.

During a pilot phase, selected neighbourhoods or districts will each be equipped with two e-cars and the corresponding charging infrastructure. Groups of six to ten households in close proximity (same/adjacent streets) can apply. Interested neighbourhoods must submit a short digital application form to the regional management by 30 October 2022. Neighbourhoods from the Bocholt city centre are not eligible to apply.

Some neighbourhoods from Rhede, Velen/Ramsdorf and Borken have already applied in the first application phase, which ended in August. In order to gain car sharing experience in the other two municipalities in the LEADER region, the application phase for the Bocholt suburbs and Isselburg will be extended again", says Alexander Jaegers from regional management. "The project aims to create a good alternative to a second or third car during the pilot phase. This enables households to gain experience with car sharing and e-mobility. This alternative form of mobility is an economical concept", especially for infrequent drivers, he adds. Bocholt's "core city" is not part of the LEADER funding programme.

Further information and the application form for this pilot project, which is unique in the region, can be found on the homepage of the LEADER region Bocholter Aa(www.region-bocholter-aa.de/2021/07/05/selbstorganisiertes-e-car-sharing-in-stadtquartieren/).

If you have any further questions, please contact the regional management on 02561 9171-690 or at regionalmanagement(at)leader-bocholter-aa(dot)de.
