Bocholt cemetery opens its doors

"Open Day" with public guided tours on Whit Sunday, 5 June, from 10:30 a.m.

The Bocholt cemetery is one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Germany. On the open day on Whit Sunday, 5 June, the park with its diverse burial options can be discovered during guided tours of the cemetery from 10:30 am. The new funeral parlour at Bocholt cemetery will also be opening its doors to the public for the first time.

Guided tours of the new funeral hall

Funeral services have been taking place in the new funeral hall since January. After the opening had to take place in a small circle due to the pandemic, the mourning hall is now open to the public for the first time. The new mourning hall can be visited individually or as part of a guided tour. The tours take place at 10.30 am, 1 pm and 3 pm and are conducted by the responsible operations manager Gisbert Jacobs. He will explain the many different ways in which the mourning hall can be used. The meeting point is the entrance to the new mourning hall.

Guided tours of the cemetery

Bocholt's cemetery is one of the most beautiful in the country. Cemetery master Andreas Euting knows all the details of this unique place and invites you on guided tours of the cemetery. The meeting point for the guided tours is the information stand on the cemetery forecourt. The tours are offered at 11.15 am, 1.45 pm and 3.45 pm and last around 75 minutes.

Those who prefer to discover the cemetery individually can use the signposted circular route with lots of information about the cemetery.

Tours with electric scooters

For visitors who are unable to walk the long distances around Bocholt Cemetery, tours are offered on an electric vehicle on the "Open Day".

Throughout the day, staff from the cemetery administration will be on hand to answer questions about the cemetery and burial options.

On this day, the OMEGA Bocholt e. V. association will be offering a grief café, which will take place on the last Sunday of every month from 3 pm in front of the historic cemetery chapel.
