FW Bocholt: Two operations early in the morning for the fire brigade
FW Bocholt (ots) -
At 07:45 shortly before the changing of the guard, the fire brigade was called to a flat fire in Ziegelheide. The troops fought the fire under breathing apparatus with C-beam pipes. The ambulance crew took a resident to hospital with suspected smoke intoxication. His son, who lives next door, was able to rescue him from the house before the emergency services arrived.
The property damage caused by the fire is estimated at 100,000 EUR after consultation with the police. It was possible to prevent the flames from spreading to the roof and the neighbouring house.
After the fire engine was made ready for use at the fire station, the firefighters went to the Mussum industrial park to report a fire alarm. During a production process, small amounts of smoke were released and detected by a smoke detector. The fire brigade did not have to intervene.
For both incidents, 4 vehicles with 11 firefighters each were on site.
