FW Bocholt: Kitchen fire in an apartment building on Moselstraße in Bocholt
FW Bocholt (ots) -
On the 2nd floor of an apartment building, a resident reported a kitchen fire.
An attack squad under self-contained breathing apparatus went into the flat. The fire brigade placed a smoke curtain in the entrance area so that as little smoke as possible could enter the staircase. The fire was quickly under control and extinguished. Ventilation was carried out by means of a battery-powered fan in front of the flat.
Neighbouring flats were checked and were all still habitable and undamaged. Only the fire flat will not be habitable for the next few days. It was also routinely confiscated by the police for further investigation.
There were no personal injuries. The fire damage is estimated at about 40,000EUR. All residents of the apartment building acted prudently, did not stir up panic and quickly provided helpful information in response to questions from the fire brigade.
The fire brigade was on the scene with 5 emergency vehicles and 12 emergency personnel. In total, the operation lasted a good hour.
