From 3 to 15 June, eye-catching XXL packaging throughout Germany will draw attention to an important topic: correct waste separation. The "Deutschland trennt. You too?" campaign informs people about the correct way to separate packaging waste. The aim of the nationwide campaign is to motivate as many people as possible to separate their waste more and better - for more recycling. Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke is the patron of the largest partner campaign for correct waste separation to date.
It's all about packaging: correct waste separation is the prerequisite for efficient packaging recycling and thus for the protection of important raw materials, the climate and the environment. For the first time, the nationwide campaign weeks for "Germany separates. You too?" campaign weeks, local authorities throughout Germany are joining forces with the dual systems and their "Waste separation works" initiative, retailers and the waste and disposal industry to inform as many people as possible about correct waste separation.
Nationwide campaign shows its face - competition attracts many prizes
The "Waste Separation Works" initiative is accompanying the campaign weeks with a nationwide advertising and social media campaign. The campaign is also receiving prominent support from influencers. Citizens themselves can also show their face: By taking a selfie in front of XXL packaging and using the hashtag #wertrenntgewinnt , they can take part in the nationwide social media competition organised by "Deutschland trennt. Proper waste separation in Germany: one goal - many senders
The idea for the largest partner campaign to date for correct waste separation comes from "Waste separation works", an initiative of the dual systems: "Togetherwe can achieve a lot", says Axel Subklew, spokesman for the initiative. "So far, the companies and institutions involved in the packaging recycling value chain have mostly been providing information on their own. We have a common goal: more collected packaging, efficient recycling and therefore an even more sustainable circular economy for packaging in Germany", says Axel Subklew. The patron of "Germany separates. You too?" is Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke.
