Changes to waste collection over the Christmas holidays

Dates at a glance

Due to the Christmas holidays, there will be changes to waste collection.

The paper bins in districts P and V, the yellow bins in district F and the residual waste bins will be emptied on Friday, 20 December (instead of Monday, 23 December)

The emptying of the yellow bins in district G, the paper bins in district R/W and the residual waste bins, which are usually emptied on Tuesdays, will be postponed to Saturday, 21 December.

Residual waste bins in district 3, yellow bins in district H and paper bins in district S, which are usually collected on Wednesdays, will be emptied on Monday, 23 December.

New dates also apply after the Christmas holidays. All residual waste bins that are normally emptied on a Thursday, as well as the yellow bins in the J/Z district and the paper bins in the T/Z district, will be emptied on Friday, 27 December (instead of Thursday, 26 December). The residual waste bins that were scheduled for Friday, 27 December will be collected on Saturday, 28 December.

Set up rubbish bins early enough

Waste bins should be ready by 6 a.m. at the latest. "We recommend placing the bin on the street the evening before so that neighbours are also aware of the changes", says waste consultant Petra Tacke. The shifts may also result in different collection times than usual.
