In 2024, the traditional Bokeltsen Treff will once again take place on the last weekend in September with Sunday shopping. Under the motto "Experience fun and games together", a day is organised for the whole family. Children can use the large play equipment distributed throughout the city centre for a day free of charge while their parents shop, stroll around, meet up with friends for a drink, ice cream, cake or snack, or simply watch their children play. During the special opening hours from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., customers are very welcome in the shops in the city centre. Parking is free in the entire city centre and StadtBus Bocholt GmbH will be running a free special service on this Sunday.

Discover play opportunities

Interesting play opportunities can be found all over the city centre. For example, there will be a large football dartboard and a bouncy castle on Neutorplatz, children can let off steam on a bouncy castle at the entrance to the shopping arcades and the Easter market, and the tiger duck rodeo is waiting for wild cowboys and cowgirls on St.-Georg-Platz. The play mobile is ready with tyres, scooters, play bricks and co. at the Gasthausplatz and on Nordstraße, reaction skills and strength can be tested with the stick catching game and Hau den Lukas. As a highlight, a crane from the Schares company including a 10 metre rope ladder awaits very brave children - and adults with a head for heights - to enable them to climb to lofty heights - naturally secured by the German Alpine Club, Bocholt section. There are also many offers and activities in the streets and in the city centre shops.

1st Bocholt club fair in the shopping arcades

"The club life in Bocholt is strong - the community is valuable. This was also the result of the city's brand analysis ", according to Ludger Dieckhues, Managing Director of City Marketing. The Bokeltsen Treff is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen this community and experience the diversity of our city." This sense of community is also reflected in the 1st Bocholt Association Fair, which is being held on this day in the Shopping Arcades by the City of Bocholt and organised by the Volunteer Agency. Around 70 associations and institutions present themselves to the public and introduce themselves in and around the shopping arcades. Take a look, get informed, join in.

Organisation and support

Many thanks to Bocholter Energie- und Wasserversorgung for supporting the Bokeltsen Treff. The event is organised by Stadtmarketing Bocholt on behalf of ISG Altstadt Bocholt and the advertising associations of Neutorplatz and Shopping Arkaden.
