Municipal offices and facilities closed over Christmas and New Year

The offices and facilities of Bocholt City Council will be closed throughout this year from Monday, 23 December to Monday, 30 December 2024. Emergency staffing will be set up for important services such as the youth welfare office, registry office, cemetery and waste disposal. From Thursday, 2 January 2025, after New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, the municipal offices and facilities will reopen at the usual service times.

Exceptions: Borken district electoral office and registration office

In view of the Bundestag elections in February, the Bocholt electoral office (Neutorplatz) will be available on Mondays 23 and 30 December at Neutorplatz to accept signatures of support or certificates of eligibility.

The Borken district's vehicle registration office in the administration building on Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße will be available with limited service on Mondays 23 December and 30 December. The district asks that contact be limited to the bare minimum on these two days. As usual, personal visits are only possible by prior appointment.

Online services are available

Online services of the city of Bocholt are also available to citizens during the lockdown on the city's website at www.bocholt.de/onlinedienste.

Letterboxes will be emptied

For documents for which legal or formal deadlines must be met, the City of Bocholt's "deadline mailboxes" at the administrative headquarters at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße 52-58 will be emptied.

City library: Return counter out of order

The city library is also taking a Christmas break. The returns desk for borrowed books or media next to the entrance to the city library will also be out of service during the closing times. Loan periods that expire during the closing times will be automatically extended until the opening day on 2 January.

Opening hours of the recycling centre

The recycling centre will be closed from Monday, 23 December up to and including Thursday, 26 December (2nd Christmas Day). The regular opening hours apply on Friday (27 December) and Saturday (28 December). The recycling centre will be closed from Monday (30 December) to Wednesday (New Year) and will reopen at the usual times from Thursday (2 January).
