Hikes
At the Bocholt Hiking Day , you will experience a cross-border hiking experience in combination with the extraordinary castle ambience of the Diepenbrock moated castle in the rural Bocholt district of Barlo all the way to the neighbouring Netherlands.
We walk without a competitive character in a relaxed and peaceful natural setting.
At Bocholt hikes you can choose between three different routes.
- As a special highlight, the longest distance of 25 kilometres crosses the border into the Netherlands.
- The 15 km route runs largely on the German side, but also touches the Netherlands and includes longer, straight sections.
- On the 8 km family hike, little hikers can go on a treasure hunt with the Bocholt beech goblin Bokeltje and look forward to a little treasure at the end. There is also a soft toy scavenger hunt for the very youngest participants.
IMPORTANT: All walkers are responsible for their own road safety and that of other road users and should take particular care at major road crossings and junctions. The normal traffic and priority rules apply and there will be no road closures for other road users during Bocholt Wandert.
