Charity walk of the Ahmadiyya community

On 1 September 2024 (from 2 pm), the eighth edition of the charity walk of the Ahmadiyya community Bocholt will take place on the festival meadow at the Aasee. All Bocholt residents and guests of our beautiful city are invited.

The entry fee, which is also a donation, is five euros for children and 10 euros for adults. The children's run covers a distance of one kilometre, while the adult run covers a distance of three kilometres.

Juan Lopez Casanava, Chairman of the Integration Council of the City of Bocholt, and Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff will also be taking part. Mr Kerkhoff is also the patron of the event and writes in his greeting:

"It is not the starting that is rewarded, but only the perseverance." This quote from Catherine of Siena is a reminder of how important it is to continually hold on to good deeds and stand up for others.

With this thought in my heart, I would like to cordially invite you to the 8th CharityWalk organised by the Ahmadiyya community in Bocholt. The Charity Walk on 1 September this year is a wonderful opportunity for us all to show solidarity and make a positive difference together. This year, the proceeds from the charity walk will go to Tür an Tür e.V., the Hohe Giethorst School and Humanity First.

Each of these organisations does valuable work, both locally and further afield, and helps to improve the quality of life for many people. Last year, we were able to raise no less than 2,500 euros. Can we do it again this year? Or even more? I would like to encourage you to take part and make a contribution, whether by running, jogging or walking. Every form of support counts! And, as von Siena said, perseverance counts!

Together we can give hope to those who need it most. Special thanks go to the Ahmadiyya community of Bocholt for the excellent organisation of this run. Their motto "Love for all - hate for none" is once again a guiding principle this year that should inspire us all to work for the good of others. I look forward to seeing you all at the Charity Walk on 1 September 2024. Thank you very much and see you soon, Thomas Kerkhoff

Background

Majlis Ansarullah, the men's organisation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat KdöR, in which men have been active for over 40 years, has been organising its charity walks throughout Germany for over 18 years. Together with the authorities and representatives of the respective venues, the motto of the Ahmaidyya Charity Walks is successfully realised:

Meet - Help - Run

Runners of all ages can take part in the not-too-demanding running routes. From racing to Nordic walking or even leisurely running, any form of locomotion is permitted. The focus is on fun and commitment. All proceeds, which are made up of entry fees and donations, are donated to local institutions and organisations at the respective event location and to the aid organisation "Humanity First Deutschland e.V.".
