Bocholter Kiepenkerl city tour
City guide Jörg Honsel guides you through the city centre as Bokeltsen Kiepenkerl. Wearing his traditional costume and carrying a pannier on his back, he tells informative and exciting stories about Bocholt that you may never have heard before.
The Kiepenkerle were once travelling traders between town and country who brought foodstuffs such as eggs, dairy products and poultry to the towns and in return sold all kinds of goods such as spices and fabrics in the countryside. They also provided the population of Münsterland with the latest news and regional information.
