New ghost cyclist graffiti on Bärendorfstraße

Bocholt - It's a place where dangerous situations occur time and time again: where Bärendorfstraße meets Meckenemstraße (city centre ring road), cyclists repeatedly ride on the wrong side - and are therefore often only seen late by motorists.

"We have an accident blackspot here," explains Stephan Wießing from the city's Mobility and Environment Department. "It can happen that car drivers don't notice cyclists until it's too late - that's when it becomes dangerous," says Wießing.

As in other places in the Bocholt city area, bright green graffiti has therefore been applied here. "Wrong side" can now be read there in neon green lettering.

The ghost cyclist graffiti is intended to attract the attention of cyclists. They have been sprayed by the city of Bocholt in consultation with the Borken district police at such accident blackspots for some time now.
