Spooky fun on the Halloween walk in the Fildeken-Rosenberg neighbourhood

Lots of young and old guests again this year // Campaign as part of neighbourhood work to strengthen social cohesion

Another Halloween walk has now taken place in the Fildeken-Rosenberg neighbourhood. "After we were virtually overrun last year, it was clear to us that we wanted to do it again this year", says Agnes Wellkamp from the neighbourhood management team. And the fun was once again well received: around 120 children and their parents came along in mild temperatures to enjoy a little spookiness together.

From 3 p.m., children were able to have their faces painted as witches, fairies or vampires by staff and volunteers in the jusina e. V. association's cellar meeting place and in the "QuartiersHaus" on Saarstraße.

Before the long procession set off on its way through Fildeken, reading mentor Manuela Raab got the young guests in the mood for the walk with a scary story, with a stopover at the atmospherically decorated "Hexenhäuschen" on Rosenberg.

Here, the children took part in the prepared games and had a lot of fun. The procession of little zombies, skeletons, witches, wizards, pumpkins and numerous other disguises then made its way to the final stop on the green area on Scheibenstraße.

Costumes awarded prizes

After all the little guests had been given "sweet" so that there was nothing "sour", the parents were able to round off the early evening in a cosy atmosphere before the best costumes were awarded prizes at the end. "And the choice really wasn't easy, because all the children and parents had made a real effort", according to the organisers.

All in all, it was another successful evening and another great joint project as part of the neighbourhood work with the cooperation partners L-i-A e. V., jusina e. V. and Freizeitanlage Aasee Bocholt e. V. Thanks to the parish of St Joseph for the use of the grounds around the "Hexenhäuschen".

Background

The Halloween walk was made possible by the disposition fund, which is provided by the federal government, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Bocholt as part of the "Social City" urban development programme. The city of Bocholt promotes neighbourhood work to strengthen social cohesion and social structures in Bocholt's districts.
