"Health pilots" wanted for Bocholt

Bocholt wants to promote the health of its citizens. A new project in which volunteer so-called "health guides" are trained is intended to contribute to this. The city of Bocholt has now launched the project, which is subsidised by the health insurance company "IKK classic", with an information event. It was well received: Over 30 participants from various associations, companies, care facilities, daycare centres and schools attended.

Training in the Europa-Haus at the end of September

In the next step, interested participants can be trained as municipal health guides via the certified academy "Netzwerkstatt" and then actively participate in the organisation of the next project steps. The course takes place over two days at the Europahaus in Bocholt: Thursday, 29 September from 9am-5pm and on Friday, 30 September from 9am-1pm.

Interested citizens are cordially invited to attend the training course to become a community health pilot. "You are welcome to get involved and play an active role!", say the organisers. Successful kick-off

After introductory remarks by Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff, the project managers from the DSPN network presented the project, which aims to "network stakeholders from all walks of life and continuously improve the quality of life and health in the municipality through a process-oriented approach". In his presentation, Prof. Dr Mathias Bellinghausen outlined the importance and benefits of municipal health promotion and prevention.

Initial ideas for suitable measures in the municipality were collected in moderated workshops and an outlook for further steps was developed.
