"Dementia network" trains 15 everyday carers
Receive special training in eight-week course
The "Dementia Network Bocholt" has now successfully trained 15 people as everyday carers for people with dementia. They were trained in an eight-week course.
This training course was aimed at family carers and people who would like to act as carers for people with dementia. In the 40-hour course, participants were comprehensively prepared for their new role: For example, they learnt how to understand the needs of people with dementia and how to respond to them appropriately. Various employment opportunities were also introduced.
After successfully completing the training, the participants received a certificate in accordance with the German Social Security Code, which qualifies them for additional care and respite services.
The training series is offered twice a year and is subsidised by AOK NordWest. The next training course is planned for January 2025. Anyone interested can contact the City of Bocholt's senior citizens' office on 02871 / 953-2234 or by email at seniorenbuero(at)bocholt(dot)de.
