City and BEW provide information on emergency preparedness

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the city centre // Brochure plus flyer with local emergency information points

Bocholt city council and the municipal utility company (BEW) are launching an information campaign in Bocholt city centre this week. The aim is to sensitise the population in the event of a major power outage due to the tense energy situation.

The campaign is purely a precautionary measure, as the city and BEW expressly emphasise. No acute emergency situation is currently foreseeable. Nevertheless, the current difficult energy supply situation is a good reason to deal with the issue of emergency supply at an early stage and in a results-orientated manner.

On Tuesday, the fire brigade, public order office and BEW will be clearly visible on the market square in front of the historic town hall, where they will provide useful advice and tips in the event of an emergency. What emergency supplies of food and drink should you have in the house? What belongs in the first-aid kit? Where are the emergency contact points in Bocholt? The experts will be on hand to answer any questions. They distribute the guidebook for "emergency preparedness and correct behaviour in emergency situations", published by the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance. The guide contains tips and rules of behaviour for a wide range of scenarios.

The brochure is accompanied by a flyer that provides a quick overview of the local emergency information points in Bocholt. The flyer has a QR code that links to the information page on the city's website www.bocholt.de/krise. Information on precautionary measures is also available there. On Thursday, the information stand will be located at Neutorplatz.
