FW Bocholt: Swan freed from awkward situation at the Aasee lake

The Bocholt fire brigade was alerted to the Aasee at 12:10 pm by the animal emergency call centre. A swan had a fishing hook in its beak and was entangled in the fishing line. The swan was floating on the water, so the Bocholt fire brigade had to use the multi-purpose boat to catch the swan and free it from its predicament. The fishing hook could not be removed on site as it was too deep in the swan's neck. The swan was handed over to the animal rescue centre for further treatment.
The fire brigade was on site with 3 vehicles, the multi-purpose boat and 9 people.
