Cross-border exhibition opens on Friday // Finissage on Sunday // Free admission

"SeptemberKunst 2024" - the cross-border art exhibition can be seen free of charge in the foyer of the LernWerk Bocholt, Industriestraße 1, next weekend. 40 artists from Bocholt and the surrounding area as well as the neighbouring Netherlands will be exhibiting their works there over three days. The LernWerk will be open from Friday, 27 September to Sunday, 29 September from 11 am to 5 pm. A finissage on Sunday at 5 pm marks the end of "SeptemberKunst 2024".

In the neighbouring Netherlands, the opening of "SeptemberArt 2024" already took place last week. The central exhibition took place in the Koppelkerk Bredevoort as well as in various private studios. A total of around 60 artists took part in Aalten.

The Bocholt artist Monica Altrogge is exhibiting her sculptures on the same weekend at "am Hemdener Weg" 30, 46399 Bocholt. Anyone interested can therefore easily make a detour to LernWerk Bocholt to attend the finissage of the cross-border exhibition "SeptemberKunst" at 5 pm. The deputy mayor of Bocholt, Elisabeth Kroesen, and the mayor of Aalten, Anton Stapelkamp, will each give a welcoming address, as they did at the opening in the Koppelkerk Bredevoort. Aalten musician Xandra Storm will provide musical entertainment on the barrel organ.

History of the art route "SeptemberKunst"

The "SeptemberKunst" exhibition started in private studios back in 2009 and will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024. The organiser is Stichting Art Aalten. The Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre organised a visit to "SeptemberKunst" in Aalten for the first time in 2015. The desire to take part in this special art project quickly emerged. The first joint cross-border art route "SeptemberKunst" took place in 2017; others followed.

The "SeptemberKunst" project is made possible by the Interreg Germany-Nederland programme and its programme partners and is co-financed by the European Union (EU).
