The Adult Education Centre (VHS) Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg, the VHS Borken and the Integration Office Bocholt invite you to a free political theme evening with political scientist Albrecht von Lucke: On Thursday, 26 September, from 7 to 9:30 pm, the final public event of the "First Voter" project will take place as part of the "Intercultural Week 2024" in the "Rheder Ei", Rathausplatz 9. Admission is from 18:30.

The event will be moderated by Christoph Schlagenhof from the association "Demokratisch Handeln". The evening will focus on the topics "Democracy as a social task for all generations" and "political participation of people with an international family history". Albrecht von Lucke will outline the connection between the European elections, the state elections in East Germany and the upcoming presidential elections in America, highlighting the importance of the super election year 2025 with the federal, local and integration council elections in autumn 2025. How can we master the social challenges in the Borken district? What needs to be done to strengthen social cohesion? These and other questions can be answered on this evening in the Kultursaal of Rheder town hall. Two further topics will round off the programme: In addition to the presentation of individual project contents from the overall "First Voter" project of the VHS, two schoolgirls have been invited for an interview.

Persons
Albrecht von Lucke is a fully qualified lawyer and political scientist. He has worked in Berlin since 1989 and has been a freelance journalist since 1999. In 2003, von Lucke became editor of the monthly political magazine "Blätter für deutsche und internationale Politik". He is a frequent and popular guest in discussions and talk shows such as Maybrit Illner, Sandra Maischberger, Markus Lanz, the Presseclub, Bayern 2, WDR 5 Politikum, NDR Kultur and SWR2 Forum.
Christoph Schlagenhof is a regional consultant and state representative for NRW (Rhineland) at "Demokratisch Handeln".
