BOHJazz concert for the first time at "LernWerk"

In the popular cultural series BOHJazz with the trio led by jazz guitarist Christian Hassenstein, Marcus Bartelt will be a guest on tenor saxophone this time. The concert starts at 8 pm, for the first time at "LernWerk" (Industriestraße 1). Admission is free. As always, visitors can look forward to unique sounds from the jazz genre.
The soloist
Marcus Bartelt lives in Cologne and is an experienced saxophonist (tenor and baritone saxophone) and woodwind player. He is in demand in Germany and internationally as a solo artist, sideman and studio musician. In the 1990s he studied jazz saxophone in Hilversum and played in the German National Youth Jazz Orchestra under Peter Herbolzheimer.
Active in the Rhine region since 1994, he has worked with renowned artists and bands such as Bob Brookmeyer, the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, DE PHAZZ, Chilly Gonzales and the German radio big bands. He has worked on numerous CD, TV and DVD productions, including for Udo Jürgens, Stefan Raab and Tom Gaebel.
In 2002, he released his debut CD "happy weeks" and founded the Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, which plays regularly at the Stadtgarten Köln. Other albums include "Into the Blue" (2010) and "Monk" (2016), both with pianist Martin Sasse.
A small selection of drinks will be offered for sale by members of the Bocholt art and culture community.
