Bocholt water fun from 27.06. - 28.07.24
Splashing water fountains, water shows with light and music, interactive water games
In the spring of this year, the city council approved a city centre grant for 2024 in order to implement initial measures from the city centre strategy paper "Collective System Change". In several surveys on the strategy process, citizens expressed a desire for more activities and events for families and children. Stadtmarketing Bocholt has therefore come up with a great, child-friendly project for the summer, which is also an absolute eye-catcher in the middle of the market square in front of the historic town hall: a 10x10 m water play area will be set up from 27 June to 28 July. The water play fountain offers entertainment for all age groups to play and watch. The "PlayFountain" will open on 27 June at 5 pm and will be open daily from 10 am to 8 pm.
Water play area on the market square
The "PlayFountain" is a mobile play fountain where exciting, intuitive and interactive water games take place. 1,024 water jets can shoot up to 4 metres into the sky, offering enormous water fun. There are water shows with light illuminations and water games with suitable background music. Hot summer days in Bocholt city centre thus become a joyful experience for the whole family - deckchairs and beanbags invite you to linger. Parents and visitors can enjoy themselves with the playing children, who will have enormous fun, and enjoy the days in the city centre during the summer holidays. The water jets are programmed and various programmes with different games can be run. On windy days, the play fountain is programmed so that the water jets only spray upwards a little so that visitors to the ice cream parlours don't get wet.
Sustainable and safe
The brand new attraction is a revolutionary product that combines water, electricity and mechanics in a proven way and fulfils all safety standards. The PlayFountain is also very energy efficient - it uses about as much energy as a refrigerator. The same applies to the water - 95% is reused and not wasted. The water is filtered, treated and checked daily so that all limits are adhered to.
The play area promises to be water fun all along the line and a refreshing solution for hot city centres.
We would like to thank Bocholter Energie- und Wasserversorgung and Stadtsparkasse Bocholt for their support.
