Bocholt Christmas market from 28 November to 22 December

For the 18th time, the Christmas market in Bocholt will take place against the beautiful backdrop of the historic town hall with its illuminated Advent calendar on the market square and in Neustraße, the beginning of Nordstraße and Neutorplatz. On Thursday, 28 November at 5.00 pm, Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff, Wine Queen Barbara I and Ludger Dieckhues from City Marketing will perform the official opening. You can experience the Christmas stall magic in the city centre until 22 December.

The smell of mulled wine is in the air as the showmen Kevin Traber, August Schneider and Menzi Fischer - all active at the Bocholt funfair - set up the mulled wine stalls specially made for the Bocholt Christmas market. The other Christmas market participants create a cosy atmosphere with their festively decorated huts and their fantastic selection of culinary delicacies and traditional Christmas items. "We have once again put together quite a lot together with a number of local suppliers", explains Markus Kock, who is once again organising the Christmas market this year together with Managing Director Ludger Dieckhues and city marketing employee Tim Becker. The Christmas market is open daily from 12 noon.

• .12.: St. Nicholas boot campaign and visit from St. Nicholas in the city centre.

• .12.-22.12.: Bocholt treasure chest with lots of keys and attractive prizes. Open daily from 12-19 hrs.

• .12.: Open Sunday for the Christmas market from 13-18 hrs. The city buses run free of charge on this Sunday from approx. 1.00-6.30 p.m.

• entertaining programme takes place on the market on all 4 Advent weekends.

The atmospheric ambience is rounded off by the magical Christmas lights and 20 wintery and Christmassy illuminated figures as well as many Christmas trees with twinkling lights and lights throughout the city centre.

In addition, from the start of the Christmas market until 2 February, an ice rink on Neutorplatz - organised by the Stadtsparkasse Bocholt Foundation with the support of Stadtmarketing Bocholt - offers 400 square metres of winter skating fun for the whole family.

The weekly market will take place on Gasthausplatz and Osterstraße for four weeks from 26 November. The evening market will take place on St.-Georg-Platz during this time.
