On Thursday 26 September, Mechtild Borrmann will present her bestselling novel "Feldpost" - a story of betrayal and tragic love against the backdrop of the Second World War. Together with the adult education centre (VHS) Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg, the city library invites all interested parties to the reading. Tickets can be purchased in advance via the homepage and at the VHS office as well as at the library. There will also be a box office.
Young lawyer Cara unexpectedly comes into possession of an old suitcase containing field post from the Second World War and unusual documents about the purchase of a villa in Kassel. This is the starting point for Mechtild Borrmann's latest suspense novel, which the author will be presenting at the city library on 26 September. A story about guilt, betrayal and a tragic love affair unfolds as the lawyer begins to investigate and soon discovers many secrets, some of which continue to have an effect to this day. "I'm really looking forward to the reading, because I'm a big fan of this captivating combination of fact and fiction - and probably not just me", enthuses Klaudia Kroesen, Head of the Novel Department.
A gifted storyteller
Mechtild Borrmann skilfully interweaves historical events from the post-war period with fictional family stories, creating atmospheric and gripping narratives that take readers on an exciting journey through German history. The author has received several awards for her novels and her debut novel made it onto the bestseller list for months. Mechtild Borrmann lives as a freelance writer in Bielefeld.

The event will take place on 26 September at 19:30 in the Bocholt City Library. Admission begins at 7 pm. The reading is supported by the Verein und Förderer der Volkshochschule Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg and the Bocholt City Library.
