JUNGE UNI in Bocholt: New semester in new rooms

14 September is "Open Day" at the Bocholt "LernWerk" // New programme is online

The JUNGE UNI in Bocholt is once again presenting a varied programme in the 2024/2025 winter semester that offers something for all children and young people aged 6 to 18. Registration opens on 5 September 2024 and offers and courses can be booked online from then on.

The new semester programme has already been published on the homepage www.juboh.de. This gives children and young people from Bocholt and the surrounding area a week to choose events that suit their interests. Registration for the courses will also be possible on the homepage from 5 September 2024.

"We are looking forward to a varied programme that will appeal to many children and young people. In addition to many new courses, we also have popular courses from previous semesters on offer again", reports Jennifer Engels, Head of JUNGE UNI in Bocholt. "Many events are taking place in our new rooms in the "LernWerk", which we are particularly pleased about."

Interesting excursions

First-time excursions include, for example, a trip to the sugar factory in Appeldorn and a visit to the Slütter farm, where the young naturalists learn about pumpkin farming. A meeting with the alpacas from Hahnerfeld is also part of the programme, as is a medieval exploration tour with the Bocholt night watchman and a visit to the Bauhaus adventure farm.

In addition to the excursions, this semester there will also be a range of interesting programmes in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology, such as "Programming with the Java Hamster!" at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences in Bocholt. Courses will take place in the new premises of the "LernWerk", such as "Retrospiel - selbst gelötet!", or once again in cooperation with and in the Makerspace Bocholt. JUNGE UNI has put together an extensive programme for the animal lovers among the young students this semester: Bats, sheep, giant insects, reptiles, winter birds and ferrets are waiting to be discovered.

At the beginning of the semester, the "Open Day" will take place on 14 September at LernWerk (Industriestr. 1 in Bocholt). Here, the Department of Culture and Education of the City of Bocholt will present itself and its new premises. "We cordially invite all interested parties to take a look around, join in, find out more or simply enjoy the day with us", says Isabel Testroet, Head of the VHS, JUNGE UNI and City Library division.
