Throughout history, their reputation has been damaged time and again by criminal organisations such as Musikantenstadl.
As hardly anyone is prepared to stand up for the preservation of a true German folk music culture, the Gsus brothers rush to the rescue to save the burning house from final destruction and make something almost forgotten a matter of course again.
Stoner rocker Steffen Thede took the bluegrass banjo behind the green dyke of his native Schleswig-Holstein and now travels the republic and its neighbouring countries as a banjo player in various formations.
In the Netherlands, he met the Münsterland heavy metal bassist Beni Feldmann, who now realises his musical potential as a singer-songwriter and guitarist, both solo and in bands and projects throughout Germany.
In order to keep the door as wide open as possible for the audience, he mixes very well-known with almost unknown folk songs and here and there you will find a harmonious original creation or a powerful art song.
