As always in December, singing takes centre stage at the Bocholt Jazz Evening. We have been following this tradition for 24 years now. This year, Henning Gailing has invited the Belgian singer Eva Buchmann.

I know the vocal lecturer at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen from our joint appearances in the "Glenn Miller Orchestra". She has travelled in very different genres but has never lost her passion and connection to the classic "American Songbook".

Buchmann is accompanied by Leon Hattori, a great pianist of the younger generation. Hattori grew up in Japan, New Zealand and Germany, has lived in Cologne since 2018 and has already shared the stage with high-calibre artists such as Lage Lund, Joey Barron and Donny McCaslin.

Henning Gailing on double bass and, as is usually the case in December, Dutchman Hans Dekker from the WDR BigBand complete the rhythm section. You can look forward to a swinging jazz evening with a high-calibre line-up!
