Stadtmuseum Bocholt invites to public participation
Livestream
The City of Bocholt, the Verein für Heimatpflege e.V. and the team of the City Museum invite all interested citizens to participate in the kick-off event for the definition of guidelines for the new Bocholt City Museum.
From 13 June to 20 August 2023, interested citizens can sustainably anchor their ideas and wishes in the future museum concept as part of a participation measure lasting several weeks.
"The mission statement with its guidelines is indispensable for the creation of a modern and up-to-date museum concept. It describes the future self-image of the museum, makes priorities clear and provides an orientation framework for all the further considerations and planning in the course of the modernisation of the City Museum," explains museum director Lisa Resing. "I am therefore very pleased that public participation offers us an opportunity to be able to take people's ideas and wishes into account from the very beginning of the process that is now starting," she continues.
Kick-off on Tuesday
The citizen participation measure will begin on 13 June at 6 pm with a public launch event in the event hall of the Stadtsparkasse.
In addition to greetings from Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff and the Chairman of the Verein für Heimatpflege e.V., former District Administrator Gerd Wiesmann, Prof. Dr. Fabian Hofmann will take an exciting look at the topic "The museum as a place of learning, space of experience and forum. Ideas - Possibilities - Utopias". Finally, museum director Lisa Resing will explain the digital and analogue public participation process that will start this evening and invite you to actively participate in the definition of the guidelines to be drawn up.
