VHS workshop: Body language in an intercultural context
Event at the Media Centre
On Tuesday, 16 May, a workshop on body language in an international context will take place from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm. The speaker for the evening is Dr Herrmann Hagemann from Münster. It starts at 6.30 pm in the Media Centre (Alter Bahnhof). Registration at www.vhs-bocholt.de or at the VHS office (Stenerner Weg 14a).
The seminar is about intercultural or international signals of body language. It is possible to read a person's body language worldwide. 80 percent of body language is identical worldwide. The rest is culturally different. In this workshop, participants learn how to make quick and confident decisions and where they need to look and listen longer.
They learn about the chances of a flash analysis (a quarter of a second) and how they can already read right or wrong at the first impression (120 seconds). The most important differences in the body language of some cultures will be dealt with and in detail it will be discussed, among other things, whether it is possible to recognise "dangerous" people by their body language.
Dr Hermann Hagemann from Münster is an expert on body language and facial expressions. The political scientist and coach trains managers in companies, administration and politics and says: "Those who can read other people's body language always have an advantage and they can use their body language consciously."
