School cycling: Best school groups awarded
Bocholt thalers for the class coffers // New record among pupils
Never before have so many pupils taken part in the "school cycling" campaign. 473 active young people took part in the city cycling campaign this year - and cycled an impressive 70,280 kilometres.
Eight schools took part in the campaign this year. The most kilometres were cycled at the Mariengymnasium: Almost half of the kilometres cycled (a proud 31,771 kilometres) went to the school's account.
"You can be really proud of that", Thomas Kerkhoff told the pupils of 6a (5,318 kilometres) and 6b (5,078 kilometres). For this achievement they received 50 and 30 Bocholt-Taler (worth 10 Euros each) for their class coffers.
Third place among the school classes went to 8b of the municipal comprehensive school, who cycled 4,992 kilometres during the campaign period. The pupils received 10 Bocholt thalers for their class coffers.
