New Year's reception focuses on the 800th anniversary of the town

This year's New Year's reception of the city of Bocholt will take place on Sunday, 16 January 2022. This time, the event will be dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the city. The Bishop of Münster, Dr Felix Genn, and NRW Minister President Hendrik Wüst are expected as guests of honour and speakers. The event starts at 11 a.m. in the LWL textile factory in Bocholt.

Around 100 invited guests from business, church, culture, sport, clubs, associations, administration and society will take part in the event in the Drosselsaal of the Textilwerk. The event will be held in compliance with the applicable coronavirus protection measures.

The programme will be hosted by well-known radio presenter Steffi Neu. After the New Year's address by Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff, Minister President Wüst and Bishop Genn will give short speeches. This will be followed by a panel discussion on Bocholt's future. Andreas Evertz (Part Economy), Edlira Harapi (Culture / Migration), footballer Celine Preuß (Sport) and Gerd Wiesmann (Society) will take part in the talk.

Before the official part begins in the Drosselsaal, the guests of honour, Bishop Dr Felix Genn and NRW Minister President Hendrik Wüst, will sign the "Golden Book" of the city of Bocholt.
